Article Spinning in Relation to There is no such thing as bad publicity when you’re reading about yourself, unless it happens to be your obituary.

A concerned client commented that their brand name and article content was being connected to a cheap websites because their story was posted on a travel site featuring cheap airline tickets, while the customer is offering a luxury travel experience.

Article spinning is a craft to re-create non-duplicate content from an original article in order to submit it to articles directories.  This practice is a great way to advertise a brand and establish backlinks.  Unfortunately it is also a balancing act, and includes a bit of a Catch-22.  Defending brand image is always essential – and the client is encouraged to question the issues and then is encouraged to to decide whether to continue article submissions.  However let’s review the purpose of these articles before getting into that.

We spin an article to create a gazillion non-duplicated articles by liberally applying synonyms and substituting phrases or sentences whenever practical.  However if you’re not careful sometimes the syntax and grammar can get awkward, so it is worthwhile to make an extra effort to make certain the article reads well.  This is not easy.  More information can be found on the Design Chemical website and blog Bangkok Web Design.

Spun articles can be used on your own blogs, manually submitted to or automatically submitted through subscription services to either blogs or article directories based on subject category.Normally there isn’t anything exotic to directory categories.

For Example:
Travel and Leisure
Travel and Leisure, Aviation
Travel and Leisure, Boating

Article spinning is like bartering. Contained in each category there are at least dozens of sites that will post an article with links to your domain.

When they start showing up in Google Alerts is good news for a website.  It means the content is getting crawled by Google and the links to the website are being found.  Google, and other, spiderbots will follow the link to your site too – determining anchor text link relevancy.  Also when it happens quickly means Google respects the article sites.

Typically They are not really intended to be offered to the target audience.  Having the articles read by people that follow the link, isn’t really expected or intended and is more of a bonus.  But traffic does arrive directly from these sites, but it is not why we’re doing the article submissions.  Only a few of the people that see these articles also see your site your web page but your site should have relevant content.

Regarding the Catch-22:  By and large there is an issue that people searching topics of interest might actually discover this content rather than find your website; but then if you do the math it shrinks into a very small chance that there will be a bad perception by a target audience.  Most of the undesirable content is in adword ads, that many visitors are likely to ignore regardless.  The handful of questionable domain names just don’t add up to much in the big picture.

When we create articles they are set not to appear on adult, gambling, on-line pharmacy, or weight loss websites … but other than designating categories to submit we’re at the mercy of pages and rely upon them to adhere to submission directory rules.  The rewards far outweigh the chance of any negative perceptions.  Questions regarding protecting brand are important and worth talking about.   But these backlinks are the backbone to having people find the original content through organic search.
